If I had fun with it, then I had fun with it, and will give it high marks, regardless what anyone says. :)Ī review has and always will be the opinion of the reviewer. If you have not played the game, or even really loooked at it, or know anything about it, why bother posting an opinion on it based on looks? That statement in itself isn't thought through. Whether you think it looks mediocre or not does not matter to anyone but you and others who can not decide for themselves. I tell the guy I work with over and over his scale sucks and he just gets mad and blows it off and tries to make it sound like it makes sense but yeah. Sorry but this rating system isn`t very thought through, I also thought this was a mediocre game at first glance )

Originally posted by YouGotOwned:I don't know anything about this game, but how is it possible that you would give it a 68/100 when all of your "factors" you considered had a score of 7/10 or higher? That doesn't make any sense haha you may want to rework your rating scale.Ĭount mate, if anything it could only be 68 out of 80 as there are only 8 variables. Watch at youer own discretion, the scoring system is extremely flawed and not how any sane company would set it. Menus are easy to navigate and controls are simple and easy to grasp. Jump a bunch, kill stuff, don't fall in spikes. It's a pretty good story, from what I read, and is a good motivator to play, as if the gameplay itself wasn't motivation enough. The character moved when and where I told it to, with little hiccups. The levels look bright and dark at the same time(is that possible?). The game scales in difficulty quite nicely but not too harsh in the early stages, allowing you to become used to the game while offering a unique challenge. Original music that is catchy, upbeat and charming. Multiple difficulties and a plethora of levels as well as multiplayer and a level editor.
#SHADOW BLADE RELOAD STORY PC#
It’s a twitchy couple hours of fun that managed to beat the odds and turn out to be a decent mobile to PC port.Plenty of ways to go about defeating your enemies and completing the level with a mixture of wall jumps, air dashes, downward stabs, and more, and a level editor is just icing on the cake, an already sweet, delicious, shuriken throwing cake that kills people. If you like ninjas and action platformers, then it minght be worth it for you to spend the $18 and check out Shadow Blade: Reload. That’s not exactly a bad thing Reload is much better than the mobile version and it’s a fun way to kill some time however, being this unoriginal isn’t really going to turn any heads. From the story to the combat to the platforming itself, there’s not much new going on. So, if Shadow Blade: Reload is as good as it sounds, why is it only getting a 75? Well, while it’s fun and only a little bit overpriced, it’s just so damn unoriginal. Only one enemy couldn’t be dive-bombed, and he was easily killed by dashing and striking instead.

The enemy variety was good, but not enough to make me have to stop and think about how I was going to handle each fight. The air-dash strike in particular feels so incredibly similar to the flying swallow technique from Ninja Gaiden that I ended up using it and the dive-bomb for nearly every fight. With the recent revival of ninja-based games, such as The Messenger and Katana Zero, Shadow Blade: Reload aims to stick true to its Ninja. None of the moves are very original, but they feel fluid and powerful. 6 The way of the ninja is best explored elsewhere. Don’t expect any groundbreaking dialogue or character development, but the comic-style cutscenes that portray everything is a huge step up from the mobile version.Ĭombat in action platformers can be kind of sub-par but Shadow Blade: Reload does an all right job here. The story is pretty standard, a tale about a young ninja Kuro who blindly follows his overzealous master against rival clans. There are seven areas, each boasting some new artwork and about fifteen minutes of play, and they are what stand between you and the final boss. The only real problem here is that there aren’t that many, around fifteen or so, and they each take less than a minute if you don’t get stuck.įortunately the story mode will take a little bit longer than that. It feels great to just react to a situation and look like a badass when you beat one of these challenges on your first try. A lot of the action in Shadow Blade can be pretty instinctual, and these trials set up some very cool sequences if you can pull them off. These are actually a blast, and a great way to kill some time after you’ve finished the story mode. Fast and to the point, these are all about racing to the finish in record time. Once you feel you’ve mastered these techniques, there is a challenge mode.
